Cubs Game with Friends

It's Saturday.  Today Tom and I took in the Cubs/Sox game with our friends Gene and Norma Seymour.   Great game....the Cubs won 13-0!    Beautiful weather, great company and a Cubs win made it a super day!

Oh my gosh.....it's really wild and wholly here.  Last night we had 4 javelinas outside our bedroom window.  The dog upstairs went ballistic!  Then today we saw 4 wild dogs running in back and they went thru twice.  I'm seeing lots of kangaroo rats.....gerbils...too running in the desert.  Luckily we haven't encountered any coyotes.   It's fun seeing all this stuff but a little scary too...especially with Riley.  Hopefully we'll keep seeing some of these things so spring break will be memorable when the boys are here.  :)
Weather is beautiful and hopefully will stay like this.  I think we've turned the page and are into spring in the desert.  Lots of things are blooming too.

Balloon Launch

Every year they do a balloon launch in Fountain Hills.  This year we didn't go because it was overcast and cloudy and we didn't think they'd go up.  When I looked out the bedroom window I saw that some had taken off so off I went with my camera.  As I hit the patio I saw the big red balloon right off our patio!   He'd gotten off course.  I shot a few pix from our patio and then caught him thru the garages as he got more on course.  The other pix are of the ones I got looking down the drive thru the complex into town where they take off.

This is Riley doing his favorite AZ thing......watching for other dogs and javelinas!  I kept this stool just for him!

SAN DIEGO TRIP

We have no idea why we waited so long to visit San Diego.  What a beautiful city.  We enjoyed our time exploring the area with our wonderful tour guides, Den and Linda Murphy.  What Den the tour guide didn't know he made up!  They took extremely good care of us.  We crammed a weeks visit into a few days.  The weather for the most part was beautiful and the places we ate were great.  We saw all the high points but left a few for our next visit.  We cut our trip a day short due to the forecast of an approaching storm and the fact that there will be snow in the mountains we go thru, and we didn't want to get delayed since Riley was anxiously waiting for us!  It's good to be back but we had a wonderful trip!

Our first afternoon there we visited a War Memorial which gave a great view of the area and then we toured La Jolla where we walked Pacific Beach, ate at the beach, saw where the sea lions are taking over a children's swim area and enjoyed a beautiful La Jolla sunset.  Great afternoon and evening!

We had beautiful weather and had a wonderful day cruising San Diego Bay and then going to Coronado Island.  We had dinner at a really cute Mexican place that had wonderful margaritas!

The World Famous San Diego Zoo was beautiful and the animals were very active and fun to watch.

After the zoo we visited Balboa Park which was beautiful.  It's a campus of museums and gardens.
