ABOUT THE PIX

Below are pictures we took on our walk today.  It is of the area around us where we walk everyday.  We have an imaginary lot picked out to build on when we win the lottery!  The view would be awesome!  Just sharing a piece of our near-by world.  :)

What a deal!!

Well, the good news is that Dad found a Tommy Bahama shirt at Good Will today.  What a deal!  The bad news is we went there because we made a donation of clothes that we cleared out of the closet when we got here and he accidently put in my black everyday sandals (you know, the Naots that cost lots of $$$$) so I thought maybe I'd find them there before someone got the deal of a lifetime!  No such luck!  So....I get a new pair of shoes out of it and he feels responsible so he isn't even upset that I have to spend $$.  What a deal!

A NICE DAY

This is the back of the condo looking towards Four Peaks.  Then I got a pic of the first hummingbird of the season since hanging my feeders.  They won't let us feed regular birds because the seeds draw javelinas, but we can feed the hummers.  It's one of my favorite past times to sit and watch them.  They fight it out with another kind of little bird that comes for a drink too.

IT'S WILD HERE II

Today on the way to the Mesa Market we saw LOTS of wild horses in the desert on the Beeline Hwy.   There must have been about 18 total.  That's more than we've ever seen.  It's fun to see them grazing on whatever they eat out there and we always wonder where they find water.  We think they must go down to the canal at some point and drink, altho they haven't been that far down.

IT'S WILD HERE!

This morning we saw some javelinas passing thru off our patio.  What an ugly way to start the day!  I tried to take a picture but couldn't do it thru the window so I'll have to get out there next time.  (I got the picture off the web)  We thought we were done but then all of a sudden Riley goes BALISTIC and we saw he'd found another.   Supposedly there's been lots of them out here as well as coyotes.  It's kind of fun when they come by but scary too.  I"ll try to get some pix next time!

Arizona arrival

I spent the day cleaning all the dust and bugs off the screens and windowsills and doing a good cleaning of the entire place.  I'm still not all unpacked but, all in good time.  Judging from all the dust they must have had some really good winds come thru!   It's squeaky clean and now we can enjoy the place and begin to have some fun.  I started by checking out a new store in the strip mall near us.  Eco friendly merchandise and some really cute stuff!  Just what I need......another good store right in the area. :)

Evidently there's been several javelinas and coyotes around the condos so I'm keeping watch and watching closely when the Riley man goes out to do his business.  Don't want him to be lunch!  They have been spotted walking down the sidewalk right outside and out in back.  Hopefully we'll be able to catch a look at them sometime soon.

Tomorrow I want to start looking for new couches.  One will be a hide-a-bed so we can sleep more, easily.  Getting geared up for spring break already!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hope everyone had a good celebration on New Year's Eve. ......and feel OK this morning!    We leave for AZ tomorrow morning so keep checking in for pix and dialog about our time there.  Hopefully we'll get to San Diego to visit Den and Linda and of course, the animals of the San Diego Zoo!   Maybe we can get some pix of the wildlife around the area....hopefully from a comfortable distance from our patio!  We're looking forward to seeing AZ friends and taking part in AZ activities, but hate to leave the family and especially the kids.  We'll enjoy keeping in touch via Skype.   More when we have something to report!
