Murphy Christmas, 2008

We had a wonderful Chistmas.  My sister and her husband and daughter Meghan were here to celebrate with us.  What joy to watch Lucas enjoy his first Christmas and to see Connor and Cole enjoy the magic of Santa and the whole experience.  Kids make the holiday a special time.

Movie Review

We took Connor and Cole to see Depereaux tonight.  It is a sweet story that both liked.  It's worth seeing with kids.   Neither used the bathroom the whole time!  I even won some Swedish Fish candy by answering a question in the before movie quiz. (the manager comes in and does a quiz)  The question was "what movie star use to work at the Liberty Theater?"  I knew the answer which was Marlon Brando!  Connor was impressed!!  Fun!

The boys stayed with us last night so Mom and Dad could go to a Holiday party.  Lots of laughs, an art project, popcorn, a movie and an early awakening.....before 6 am!   After breakfast they built a fort  of sort, or maybe a comfy nest, and played their DS games QUIETLY!  They didn't even argue and actually smiled when I took their picture!  They'll be back next Friday night!

HO HO HO

It was tacos, a Christmas tree and picture taking.  The boys enjoy each other so much!  Lucas is chasing them and trying to play with them.  Santa's elves are looking forward to Christmas and all it's magic!

THOSE ARE PRETTY!

I was able to spend lots of time with Connor and Cole when they were little and didn't think that I'd get the chance to do that with Lucas since he was living a bit farther away.  But  I got lucky and was able to help out and watch him while his Mommy worked and until he could join Double A Daycare.  To say thank you he sent me a beautiful vase of flowers.  I don't know who liked them more, Nana or Lucas!    They are beautiful!

Sharing

Erin's family is enjoying a weekend in the Dells at a water park.  Izzy is vacationing in Belvedere (thank goodness!) and Sammy is at Murphy Camp.  Riley is enjoying the company and even shares his favorite spot!

50's Dudes

Both Connor and Cole have enjoyed special activities at school where they dressed in 50's garb.  Connor did it last year and the other day Cole sported his cool look.   So cute!!!!!

Wednesday, Nov. 5.....The day after

I'm happy.....no more negative ads on TV.   I'm feeling good about the future.......hopeful, inspired, and awed.   I feel a sense of calm.  What a responsiblity for Obama!  How great to be alive to see this kind of history being made.

Big Birthday Celebration

We had a great afternoon celebrating Connor turning 8 and Cole turning 6. (on Tuesday)  Lucas was a hit with the boys and Hannah and Emily.  Naturally, the men spent most of their time in front of the TV watching football.  The food was delicious!
Cole wasn't feeling up to snuff but got a little better as the afternoon went on.   The kids party is on Tuesday night at Pump It Up.  Cole has invited all his buddies from school and Connor has some of his friends coming too.  I"m sure it will be lots of fun!

Connor and Cole don their new Bears jerseys.  They also got some other Bears clothes from Brian and Auntie Anne and Lucas.  They had fun playing their new Wii game from Lauren and Josh and will enjoy their cozy new flannel shirts and tees from Auntie Cheryl and Uncle Dan.

Brian feeds Lucas, mom hides from the camera and Lauren and Josh need a nap!

Cousin Lauren enjoys some Lucas time.

Both boys had a cake but at first Cole wasn't up for  blowing out candles.  Connor seems happy to be making a wish and getting to eating that delicious chocolate cake and some ice cream.

Halloween Fun

It was a great Halloween!  The weather was gorgeous and the kids looked Spook-tacular!   The day included two Halloween parades at Butterfield and lunch with Grandma with Erin, Cole, Lucas and myself.  All the boys enjoyed Trick or Treating and had a great time.  Now we look forward to Sunday when we celebrate the Landmeier boys' birthdays.  That will be the next post.

Connor and Cole

Here are Connor and Cole.  Connor is the skeleton and Cole is the black Spiderman.  Both were Spooky!  They looked great marching in their school parades.  I'm sure they will end up with TONS of candy from Trick or Treating.  Then it's on to celebrating another year!

Scarecrow Cuteness

Here's the cutest scarecrow ever!!  A very fun first Halloween for Lucas.  We visited Anne at school and everyone went crazy for him.  He even got to trick or treat!

The Dude

Lucas came in this morning donning his jeans, a striped tee and a vest.  Very stylish and very fall!  He also comes with a new winter hat that Anne bought him.  He looks so cute and funny!  It has ears and is very fluffy and will keep him cozy this winter, but what a hoot!  I had to share this sylin' guy with you.

Busy weekend

We enjoyed soccer and football with the boys but it was FREEZING outside!   On Saturday night I got to go see HSM 3 with Erin and the boys.  It was actually pretty good!   Our other boy took his first plane ride this weekend.  Anne and Lucas went to Philly with her sister and nephew to see friends.  According to Brian, Lucas did well on the plane ride.  Today (Sunday) I'm going to do some shopping for Grandma for b'days.  Fun!

Keeping in Touch

I thought I'd create this blog so I can stay in touch and show off the boys!   If you have anything to share with the family let me know and I'll post it so all can see.  I think it might be fun!!
Today I've got two of the boys....Cole is here with Lucas.  Cole thinks it 's great to have his cousin here to play with.    Riley is in hog heaven to have two playmates.
Keep checking in to see what's new.  Probably not much!
